Autism Spectrum ArtPlay
We are excited to partner with the Alliance for the Arts to offer an Autism Spectrum Diagnosis Art and Play Class! Our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Master’s Level Social Workers, and Registered Behavior Technicians will be working in concert with an Art Therapist to offer a fun and interactive class for attendees.
This program offers another extension of the ASD support programs being offered by Family Initiative. Our high-quality services are designed to offer a fun and supportive environment for children diagnosed on the spectrum. We will continue to add class sessions through the summer! Our new Improv classes are designed for students 8-17 and focus on social communication, engagement with peers, and working together as a group. Improv and theatre games used in this class will teach students skills such as accessing emotions and storytelling. This will be done in a safe and fun setting where the students can explore and challenge themselves. Instructed by Leigh Shein with support from Board Certified Behavior Staff.
Autism ArtPlay and Autism Improv Class
Through a wonderful partnership with the Alliance for the Arts, we offer a weekly Autism Spectrum Diagnosis visual arts and acting classes. This program offers another extension of the Autism Spectrum support programs being offered by Family Initiative. Our high quality services are designed to offer a fun and supportive environment for children diagnosed on the spectrum. By blending the experiential learning through the arts and clinical wrap around support services in a wonderful classroom setting, our children can completely immerse themselves in the arts.
Our Autism Spectrum ArtPlay class offers students an opportunity to create, design, and explore creativity. An art instructor leads the class through a variety of activities designed to expose students to a variety of sensory experiences and artistic techniques. Each month long course focuses around a theme and offers artists of all levels a chance to excel.
Our Autism Spectrum Improv classes are designed for students to focus on social communication, engagement with peers, and working together as a group. Improv and theatre activities used in this class will teach students skills such as attending to nonverbal communication, utilizing self-regulation, and storytelling. This is all done in a safe and fun setting where the students can explore and challenge themselves each week. This wonderful program is lead by Improv Coach Leigh Shein with support from our team of Board Certified Behavioral Staff.
Autism Social Skills Playgroup Our ASD Social Skills Playgroup provides a safe and supportive environment for youth ages 5-16 to meet with other children to develop socialization skills and build friendships each week.
