Amber Zollinger is used to the challenges of getting help for her son Greyson, who is on the autism spectrum.
“You’re constantly on the phone, trying to get an appointment or insurance,” she said. “I’m used to hounding people.”
So when Family Initiative vice president Anjali Van Drie took Zollinger’s call, that immediately put her high on Zollinger’s respect level.
And she wasn’t going to let her get away.
“They were one of the only ones to answer the phone,” Zollinger said. “Poor Anjali. I was hounding her. But she and her people always answered my questions and from early on, I was all in.”
Zollinger, who has gone from advocate to board member, was one of the speakers at Family Initiative Autism Support Center’s ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 8.
